Cat, writing as Pamela Delaney, will be published in the February/March 2012 edition of Homemakers Magazine.

Her piece will be a “Turning Point” profile of Sonja Wood, a Nova Scotia musician turned fossil museum owner and advocate.

Welwarewell is slated for a 20-show run at the Curtain Club Theatre in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

Directed by Sharon Dykstra, the show will be running January 27th to February 11th. This production is in easy access to Esmerelda’s Toronto fans.

Welfarewell heads west

Esmerelda and the girls will be on stage at the Odyssey Dinner Theatre in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan this upcoming spring.

Directed by Layla Shuparski, the show will run in April and May 2012.

Esmerelda to holiday in Florida

Theatre Jax, supporting Jacksonville and Orlando, Florida, will host a production of Welfarewell from October 14th to 29th, 2011.

Directed by Shirley Sacks, Esmerelda will finally get a chance to be exposed to the southern sunshine.

Esmerelda goes to Olympia

Welfarewell, directed by Toni Holm, goes up at the Olympia Little Theater in Olympia, Washington, USA October 28th, 2011.

The show runs until November 20th, and casting is underway.

Welfarewell to be translated into German

Director of the May 2011 production of Welfarewell in Austria, Michale Darmanin, and his University of Salzburg colleague, Andreas Schachermayr, are set to translate Welfarewell into German. Darmanin’s troupe, The English Drama Group, are staging Welfarewell in its original English form in Salzburg and Vienna. Mr. Darmanin has received numerous inquiries from German-language theatre groups interested in performing Welfarewell in German.

Cat Delaney will actively seek a suitable publisher for the German language edition of Welfarewell. Plans are also underway for the play to also be translated into French and Italian. Any theater companies interested in versions of the play other than English should contact Cat directly through email.

Esmerelda’s name will be up in lights. Cat is pleased to announce that Big Nickel Motion Picture Factory has optioned the screenplay rights to Welfarewell. Plans are underway to secure top talent to direct and act in the film. Right now this is under development and we’ll keep you posted on progress, including who will play the roles.

Cat would like to thank the producers, Christine Grossutti Sola and Richard Watson, who saw the great potential in the story of Welfarewell and fell in love with Esmerelda and the other characters. Cat is looking forward to working with them to make Welfarewell come alive on the screen.

the cast and crew at West Mifflin High School in Pennsylvania for their outstanding efforts in staging Welfarewell. They had an 18-year-old actress, Becky, playing 80-year-old Esmerelda!

Welfarewell goes back to school!

Cat is thrilled to announce the production of her social satire, Welfarewell! Esmerelda Quipp and her band of wild women will be appearing on stage at West Mifflin High School, just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in April. It will be cool to see how a student at high school age transforms herself into an 80-year-old lady! Wishing Mellisa Prutz and her students a heap of broken legs!

Esmerelda does Austria…

Cat is excited to be winging her way to Austria in June for the Salzburg and Vienna productions of Welfarewell. Being produced in cooperation with the University of Salzburg, the play will have a seven-night run under the direction of Michael Darmanin. Cat will be delivering a lecture at the University of Salzburg and is really looking forward to meeting the cast and crew in two gorgeous cities. Cat has meowed all over Europe, but has never been to Austria, and will pack Esmerelda’s Sunday best for her first European tour!
